What is the expected date of Eid-al-Fitr 2025 in UAE?

Introduction

The Eid countdown officially begins with the start of Ramadan. Muslims worldwide look forward to the joyous three-day festivities to dress up, meet with family and have delicious food. Oh! And let’s not forget the excitement for the Eid holidays to finally have some days off from work. This year, Eid Al Fitr 2025 in UAE will be celebrated with a four- or five-day weekend (based on the moon sighting) giving us a chance to relax and enjoy the celebrations. With further ado, let’s get into all the fun details including the predicted date, public holidays and much more.

The Much-Awaited Eid Al Fitr 2025 UAE Public Holidays

2025 has just begun, yet we are already exhausted. Sigh. It may feel like months have passed but nopewe are just 3 months in! Don’t worry, relief is on the way. Okay enough of the small talk. We know what you are most curious about. It’s official, the first of the UAE public holidays for 2025 will kick in with the Eid break. With Ramadan already in full swing, we can predict the expected date of Eid Al Fitr 2025 to be on either;

  • 30th March Sunday, 31st March Monday and 1st April Tuesday (counting in the weekend, we will have a total of four days off) This will happen if Ramadan ends on the 29th day.
  • 31ST March Monday, 1st April Tuesday and 2nd March Wednesday (yup, it will indeed be a five-day break. This will be the case if we have 30 days of Ramadan)

Usually, we are all eyes on the sky, excitedly waiting for that Eid moon. But this time, let’s be real. We are all secretly hoping for a 30-day Ramadan to end up with a much-needed five-day break. You can expect the official UAE moon sighting Eid announcement to be made by the sighting committee. Till then, let’s just keep praying for a long and relaxing break—fingers crossed and duas locked in.

Let’s Celebrate Eid Al Fitr 2025 in UAE Style!

After a long Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr comes as a reward from Allah for Muslims. It marks the end of the sacred month and the beginning of Shawal. If you are lucky enough to be here in the UAE for Eid, you are in for a magical ride. Let’s break down how the typical festive days go by and what are some fun things you can try.

  • Start Your Day the Right Way with Eid Prayer

It is a special congregational (group) prayer that Muslims pray early in the morning. They visit the mosques, pray and greet each other with Eid Mubarak. It is a moment of pure joy and bonding which reflects the spirit of brotherhood in Islam. Even Strangers hug and greet each other representing the bond they share as part of the Muslim Ummah. The Eid Al Fitr 2025 UAE Prayer time will be somewhere between 7am to 12am. For exact timing, please check with the mosque you intend to offer your Eid prayer in.
