Introduction
Ever felt like something is holding you back? You have tried treating the symptoms, and for a while it seems like you have found relief, but the problem keeps coming back. This could be a sign that it’s time to dig deeper and find the root cause by actually listening to your body. With a Body Code session, you can find the buried issues—whether it’s a trapped emotion, energetic blockage or even a physical problem and release it to feel better. Keep reading! In this blog, we will break down each step to give you an insight into what happens inside a session.
How Body Code Works?
Before we get into the details, let’s catch you up to speed with a brief recap on what the therapy is. Body Code is a wellness therapy that takes a holistic approach to help you get rid of emotions, energies or other imbalances that are trapped in your energy field. For this purpose, various techniques are used, including muscle testing, intuitive guidance, the emotion code chart, and the eventual release with the use of magnets and intention.
Your Step-by-Step Guide to a Body Code Session
Detailed Pre-Session Consultation
Much like many other holistic therapies, your Body Code therapy will begin with an initial consultation with the practitioner. It will include;
- Questions regarding the issues you are facing/want to resolve.
- Guidance on how the therapy works. Its process, benefits, side effects and more.
- Answering any queries you may have.
Step 1: Muscle Testing to Identify Area of Blockage
Muscle testing is the first step in a Body Code session and is done to find the energetic blockage in your body. For the sake of understanding, think of your subconscious mind as a huge storage room, filled with everything you have ever felt, thought or experienced. Now, to figure out what is actually bothering you on a deeper level, the practitioner has to tap into this part of your mind through muscle testing. Here is how it will work; The practitioner will put pressure on various muscles of your body, such as your arm while asking simple yes/no questions.
- If the answer is ‘yes’, your muscles will remain strong.
- For a ‘no’, it will feel weak.
The idea behind this is that your body can tell you exactly what’s wrong even if your conscious mind can’t figure it out yet. The statements asked during the muscle testing phase of a Body Code session may look like this;
- “Is a negative emotion trapped in your body?”
- “Is it related to anxiety?”
- “Did it get stuck when you were younger?”
- “Is it stored in your stomach area?”
- “Can this emotion be released now?”
Step 2: Intuition and The Emotion Code Chart
Now that you have a general idea of what’s causing your problem, it’s time to dig deeper. In a Body Code session, the practitioner will use their intuition and the emotion code chart to listen to your body and find where the imbalances are hiding. This chart was created by Dr Bradley Nelson and contains a total of 60 emotions divided into groups, with each group associated with specific organs in the body.
- For example, if the results of muscle testing hinted that at a suppressed emotion related to fear, the therapist will cross-reference it to the chart to see what other sentiments are associated with it (like blame, horror, dread) and the organ it impacts (kidneys/bladder).
Step 3: Energetic Detox to Restore Balance
With the problem and its location identified, the next step is to release it. Energy healing in Body Code therapy is done with the use of intention and magnets. Yes! Magnets. They are used as a tool to enhance the flow of energy which can nudge the stuck energy to move. They are swiped across the energy channels in your body (mostly the spine and on top of your head) to send a message to the subconscious, encouraging it to ‘let go’. This process is done with the intention to release ‘whatever is no longer serving you’.
Final Adjustments and Aftercare Guideline
Once the Body Code session is completed, the therapist will;
- Perform a follow-up testing of yes/no questions to check if the issue is resolved.
- Ask you how you feel, and if the severity of your initial symptoms has decreased.
- Explain the Aftercare (what you should and shouldn’t do after the session).
- Consider whether or not you need more sessions.
